COOPER BOATING has set high standards for our courses and graduates of our CORE PROGRAMS may obtain certification with Transport Canada's Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC) , Sail Canada's Cruising Standards, or International Yacht Training's International Certificate of Competency (ICC). our CLINICS are meant to dive deeper into specific topics

to help you find the best program for your current level, please consider our 3 basic experience levels:

Basic Power Boating - Vancouver


This introductory program teaches the skills for vessels over 5.5 meters with engines over 75hp. Students must be over 17 years of age.
Learn safety, boat handling, basic navigation and emergency procedures. The course is taught over one weekend starting with a classroom session on Friday evening from 6:30-9:30pm. On Saturday and Sunday the course will runn from 9am - 5pm. Both days, you will be on the water and in the classroom. Successful students are awarded their CYA Basic Power Boating Standard and the Pleasure Craft Operator card.

Students will be writing two exams during the program in order to complete the certification process. Please read all manuals provided prior to starting the program.
