BOATING ADVENTURES MADE SIMPLE
WE ORGANIZE GREAT TRIPS ~ YOU PLUG IN AND HAVE FUN
no experience required but an eagerness to participate and a sense of humour are essential
there is no shuffleboard, no buffet ~ but as a CREW member, you get to take the helm, pull lines, tie knots and be part of the group planning and making passages from A to B and sometimes C
$39 per month and pay as you go on various events – our calendar rolls forward at least a year in advance on FUN events and even further for YOLO events
CREW CLUB F A Q
??? FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ???
Q HOW MANY TRIPS CAN I DO ?
A there is no limit to the number of trips you can do within the schedule set by the office – we'd also love your ideas as we build more
Q WHAT IF MY PLANS CHANGE ?
A once you commit to a trip, your space is confirmed and if the boat sails, so will your space ~ you are welcome to transfer your space to another member or guest, but that challenge will become yours ~ trip fees are non-refundable
A if you can no longer sail with the club at all, you are welcome to cancel the club membership monthly fees any time after your first full year is complete
Q CAN I BRING GUESTS ?
A YES – any person who has not sailed with the club before may obtain a trial 30 day membership free of charge – after 30 days, they may choose to join the club
Q CAN I SAIL ON A SPECIFIC VESSEL ?
A while we consider and work to accommodate requests, juggling the crews is a challenging task for the shore crew, so we cannot guarantee you will sail on a specific vessel on any particular trip ~ to assist in making things easier, priorities are given to those who book earlier over those who book later for each trip
Q ARE THERE OTHER EVENTS?
A we have lots of shoreside activities including holiday parties to hang out with boating enthusiasts, guest speakers for boating topics and much much more
Q WHAT VESSELS ARE USED ?
A all vessels in the COOPER boating fleet ~ power and sail ~ may be used for CREW CLUB flotillas ~ this is the finest fleet on the coast and boats are kept in three different locations – VANCOUVER, SIDNEY & POWELL RIVER
some events will draw boats from multiple locations who will meet at the first venue
Q WHAT OTHER FEES AND CHARGES EXIST ?
A the crew on a particular trip will share the cost of incidentals – transient moorage and fuel are examples – we have a sample budget of how these costs should stack up – but variances such as time at anchor or alongside in a marina and seasonality will cause some fluctuations
Q WHEN ARE BOATS & CREWS ASSIGNED ?
A 72 hours prior to the scheduled start of a program, we will assign boats and crews and the skippers will be in touch to help plan menus, shopping and the rest of the fun (multiple day trips ~ on day/evening trips, people will be on their own for bringing what they require)
