this on the water, practical course is the final component of the CYA ADVANCED NAVIGATION STANDARD

it consists of one evening lesson and assignment on PASSAGE PLANNING followed by 2 days spent cruising in HOWE SOUND while conducting navigation training based on all five components of the ADVANCED NAVIGATION series – RADAR, GPS, ELECTRONIC CHARTS, WEATHER and this PASSAGE PLANNING SECTION

successful candidates will be awarded the CYA ADVANDED NAVIGATION standard


GETTING DOWN TO DETAILS

FRIDAY lecture one week prior to sailing is from 6:30 - 9:30 pm - afloat section starts the following FRIDAY evening with a pre board at 5 pm at GRANVILLE ISLAND and return SUNDAY afternoon by 5pm

(please see the descriptions for the other modules in the advanced section - if you are pursuing CYA ADVANCED NAVIGATION, do this module last)



WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

 

appropriate clothing, personal gear including sailing attire, sleeping bag & pillow (or contact us at least one week prior to departure to have us supply)
 
we will provide the food and drink - cooking aboard will be one of the course topics
 
we are unable to supply alcoholic beverages, but you are welcome to bring your favourite to enjoy when the course 'logs off' - there are also some 'watering holes' ashore at some of our favourite stops
